Job Summary:

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production department to ensure that production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets are met. This role involves managing a team of production staff, coordinating with other departments, and continuously improving processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Team Management: Lead, train, and supervise the production team, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all production processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Implement quality control measures to minimize defects and rework.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement, implement Lean manufacturing techniques, and reduce waste and costs.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring optimal stock levels to prevent delays in production.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all production activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Procurement, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and R&D departments to ensure smooth operations and achieve company objectives.
  • Reporting: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost management.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of the production budget and monitor expenses to ensure budget compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production management role, preferably within [industry].
  • Strong knowledge of production management principles, Lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production management software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a results-driven approach.
